The Great Indoors for Middle School
Designed for middle school learners, this unit empowers students to explore the connections between environmental science and human health. Through engaging case studies, data analysis, and hands-on projects, students will uncover how environmental changes can impact our health at home—equipping students with the knowledge and strategies to have a healthy indoor environment.

Students will:
Analyze real-world environmental and health impacts
Identify ways to reduce health risks inside homes, such as improving indoor air quality during wildfires, preventing mold growth after flooding, and limiting pesticide exposure
Translate complex environmental and health concepts into accessible information for families, communities, or decision-makers, demonstrating their ability to make science relevant beyond the classroom
